魔術表演間紅球運轉,人們似乎都渴求揭開其中暗藏的秘密與玄機;同時又受表演者循序漸進的手法所導引而被轉移注意力,由此欣然困在猜測遊戲中。以成人對於物件感知的懸置作著眼點,雷恩兒在《消失的紅球》系列中以錄像及素描作品虛實交疊地呈現物像的消失與錯置。聚焦於魔術中常見的紅色海綿球,它物理層面與視覺效果的缺席成為了展覽的引子。 借助魔術師誓言、完整包裝中憑空消失的紅球、被破壞與重構的魔術手法圖解及僅餘空殼的魔術演示手勢等,作品環繞物像的可見與不可見,以逃脫系統的紅球為引營造一齣魔術幻象。
People seem eager to unravel the hidden secrets and mysteries during a magic show; simultaneously, they are diverted by the performance and are thus happily trapped in the guessing game. Taking the suspension of the adult’s perception of objects as a starting point, Mindy LUI uses video and drawings to fictionalize the disappearance and dislocation of images of objects in her Vanishing Point series. Focusing on the red sponge ball, often seen in magic tricks, its physical and visual absence serves as an introduction to the exhibition. The exhibition revolves around the visibility and invisibility of objects with the magician‘s oath, the red ball that disappeared from a complete package, and the illustrations of erased and reconstructed magic demonstration gestures. It recreates the seemingly known illusions in the static state, using the red ball that has escaped from the system as the core to build a magical illusion.
